Barbara Schmid advises in international and corporate tax law and VAT law and is specialised in tax and corporate issues on the structuring of investment funds. Before joining HPL Plewka & Coll. LLP, Barbara worked with Harald Plewka in the tax teams of the international law firms Gleiss Lutz and Bird & Bird. She has also gained experience in corporate law and M&A as an in-house lawyer and in a Norwegian law firm.
Barbara studied law at the universities of Regensburg and Oslo (Norway). As a research fellow at the Institute for Private Law at the University of Oslo, she attained a German doctorate degree within Norwegian contract law (University of Regensburg, 2002). Barbara also holds a degree in Business Administration with specialisation in taxation from the Berlin School of Economics.
Barbara is member of the German-Nordic Lawyers Association. She is fluent in Norwegian (Scandinavian), English and French.
